Facing each other and gazing upward, they sit on a carpeted terrace enclosed by a brilliant orange-red balustrade of a small pavilion. The lush trees of a garden stand upright beyond as evening sets in. He grasps his right wrist with his left hand – she grasps her left wrist with her right hand. They stretch backward and yet seemingly toward each other.

Shiva Panchanana (the five-headed manifestation of Shiva) seated on a lotus cushion accompanied by the Goddess Parvati – amid the hillsides of Mount Kailasa. In his hands are the attributes of an ax (parashu) and a deer. His trident and drum stand nearby. The River Ganges springs from his hair as a serpent entwines his neck. Nandi the Bull waits patiently below.

Black inner floral borders. Red outer borders with white ruled lines.  The central oval format defined by a thin red marginal curve. Floral decorative elements in the white ground corner spandrels.
Against a yellow ground capped at top with a strip of clouds and blue sky – and below with a wash of green suggesting a grassy hillside – six winged female angels fly and dance in a circle. One blue-skinned angel stands apart at left – not participating.

Lord Shiva wrapped in a leopardskin holding his trident and drum high. He bears the crescent moon (his symbol) near his forehead. His wife Parvati – her face golden and her gown crimson and gold flecked – dressed warmly against the chill of Mount Kailasa, seated next to him. They sit on a giant lotus blossom on the serpent Shesha – his many heads protectively encircling them.
